RE: Taking pets to Canada and bringing them home again

As I recall if dog even remotely looks like a Pit Bull, DO NOT go into Ontario. I think that is where they steal your dog, legally. Google it to be sure.

RE: Help with Overweight Camper

If you stand on your head, then put bathroom scale on your feet, you will see that you have lost LOTS of weight. You are not overweight, you are just not weighing yourself correctly!

RE: "Tail Wagging Dog" Question

IMO first find true loaded TT weight. Then find actual hitch weight, if not between 10 and 15% of total fully loaded TT weight, move stuff till it is. Then adjust WD hitch per sticky.

RE: High-quality, ultra-light weight trailer?

Casita IMO. Ours was under 2700# loaded

RE: Electrical question

My line tester cost about $10 at Radio Shack, and a plug in voltmeter, always left in outlet, was maybe $15 at Camping World

RE: New Brake controller

I live in the Colorado Rockies. Once my Prodigy is set, I forget it. That is one of the things I love about the prodigy, set it and forget it.

RE: Is this where to ask?....Voting/Polls?

I sure wish they would add a polling function. Would be a nice feature.

RE: Maxxim ST tires

Might check with Discount Tire for Maxxis. They ordered ST205/75R15's in for me for $88 (plus tax for governor so he can go to Hawaii) mounted and balanced with new metal valve stems.

RE: making arrangements for beloved pets

So true. Ours are in our will, along with names of folks who will take them. One other point. If you (both) die while traveling with your pet, what happens? Often, I've read, pet goes to the pound! We leave phone numbers in RV, and in our wallets, and usually with CG, to call if we are killed. Someone WILL fly out and rescue our beloved pets. It is all paid for. Hope it never happens, but if it does at least our best friends will have a chance.

RE: What to do when gray/blk tanks are not empty

We always dump before leaving CG. Then when we get home, any "additions" can be drained into a bucket and flushed down our stick house toilet. We then add a gallon of water in each tank.

RE: Its been two years.........

My wife uses a PetStep ramp, as stairs are really hard for her. It works great. PM me if you want more info.

RE: newbie black tank question

We always add about a gallon of water to black, and gray, tanks after dumping. Keeps seals from drying out, and any "deposit" left in tank from turning to concrete. In winter we add some antifreeze.

RE: Tire question: What would you do?

I run on them, but take back roads so I could go a bit slower. Heck 90 miles would only be 2 hours at 45 mph.

RE: Can't Remember

Sounds ok, but I do a bit more. Here's my list; 1. Check/clean demand pump filter screen. 2. Check/clean air conditioner filter 3. Un-bypass HWH (handle horizontal), connect TT to house water. 4. Remove HWH drain plug (7/8”), flush HWH, install drain plug. 5. Completely Fill, then Drain, then Fill to 1.5 marks, the fresh water tank. 6. Flush all water lines, hot and cold. 7. Verify demand pump works. 8. Check tire pressures, put to 35 psi, remember to check spare. 9. Check lug nut (13/16”) torque is 92 ft # 10. Check battery water. 11. Turn on both Propane tanks. 12. Install Propane alarm fuse and Smoke detector battery. 13. Verify the following work on propane; stove, water heater, furnace, and refrigerator. 14. Torque Equalizer drawbar bolts (15/16”) to 46 ft# with bars in loosest position. 15. Verify Intercoms and flashlight have batteries. 16. Empty waste tanks into house toilet. 17. Put peanut oil (valve lube) in toilet, and 1 cup in each waste tank. 18. Add 1 gallon water in black, and say a quart in sink drain. 19. Lube stabilizer jacks with chain lube.

RE: Changing tires with Dexter Axles

I run the non flat tire up a ramp made with Leveler Blocks. Quick and easy.

RE: Pet Sitting

Why must they be full timers? Many travelers would like to spend an entire day out somewhere, but worry about leaving their pet in the RV in the CG. What if power goes off? What if they bark? Etc Etc. You might post a card at checkin, or ask manager to give out your card. Seems to me CG owner would like it also. We'd pay a bit just for someone to check A/C is on once and awhile; ours does not bark inside TT (she was trained that way).

RE: Brake Controller choices and where to purchase it

Prodigy is best IMO.

RE: Best CG memberships to subscribe to?

None. Seems to me they ALL have restrictions of some kind. But we've used Passport America quite happily for many years. They give 50% off, but you do need to read the rules for each campground. Heck we had to do that with Good Sam as well.

RE: What Food is Safe to Keep in RV During Storage?

IMO anything you want to feed the mice with. They will love you for it.

RE: which Equalizer hitch???
